On Saturday, May 10th, Crossfit Vancouver, the gym which features the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide, hosted an OFF THE HOOK Sailors and Pinups Costume Party.

With great costumes, beautiful pinups, an open bar, DJ Madness and the Pig Pen Show, Crossfiters rocked the house.

 Major festivities! TRUNK gallery which occupies auto/ONE and affinity auto, hosted the Projecting Change Opening Night Afterparty.

After a successful and inspiring opening night for Projecting Change, the innovative organization that focuses on promoting Green and Sustainable Living through the use of entertaining & educational Film, corks popped and the celebration was ON at TRUNK gallery.

The Projecting Change Film Festival kicked off on Thursday, May 9th, at the Ridge Theatre with the movie, Flow: For the Love of Water and with runner, Ray Zahab. Find out more about the event after the jump. Read more

Projecting Change, the innovative organization that focuses on promoting Green and Sustainable Living through the use of entertaining & educational Film, held their opening night VIP reception with dignitaries, sponsors and supporters at the Ridge Theatre on Thursday, May 8th.

Vancouver 24 hours, the free publication circulated throughout the Lower Mainland, has a new home. Dean Broughton and his team welcomed guests to check out the new digs on Thursday, May 8th.

On Wednesday, May 7th, Blue Water Cafe in Yaletown hosted the First annual ‘Red Cross Celebrity Soiree’ event in honour of World Red Cross Day on the 8th.

With Blue Water Cafe as the Founding Partner and venue for this event, it could only be described as a fantastic evening with much support from attending TV, film and sports stars, including: Ty Olsson (Men in Trees), Aaron Pearl (The Guard, Intelligence), Alison Down (from the upcoming feature “The Day the Earth Stood Still” with Keanu Reeves and Kathy Bates), Steve Bacic (Good Luck Chuck, Andromeda, Stargate), Jeremy Guilbaut (Andrew of The Guard), Valerie Tien (Juno; Long Life, Happiness and Prosperity), Emmanuel Sandhu (Olympian), BC Lions, and more.

Monkey Coffee? On Wednesday, May 7th, we stopped by 49th Parallel Cafe on West 4th to meet Instaurator, Espresso Virtuoso, and sample The India Devon Estate 795 Arabica - an incredible and rare coffee has been picked my monkeys, chewed and then shade dried.

Instaurator is the Espresso Virtuoso who discovered this amazing coffee picked by Monkeys in India while on his remarkable Espresso Quest. After nearly 30 years of chasing “God in his espresso cup,” Australian coffee pioneer, Instaurator, has documented his professional success and personal observations in the new book, The Espresso Quest.
